Our History

This will be a place to publish stories and pictures of our family before us.  As we understand where we came from, we can appreciate who we are and preserve the heritage of those who sacrificed to make our lives possible today.
Please share comments or memories as we go so we can all contribute to enhance and expand these stories.  Feel free to share ideas that will bring these stories to life.

My grandfather, Roy Edward Kirk, was born in Tooele, Utah, on October 25, 1899. His family lived in Ophir, a small mining town in the mountains that separate Tooele from the valley where Salt Lake City and other communities are today. He was descended from Mormon pioneers. He died of cancer on May 2, 1978, in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was a loving, kind man who was curious about nature and good with his hands.

My grandmother was Lucille Cassity. She was born in Tooele, also, and died in Las Vegas, Nevada, on October 6, 1984. She was also a descendant of Mormon pioneers.

The picture below was taken on a roadside in Utah in August, 1960.
